Plasma Calibration Standard for Serotonin in Serum/Plasma/Whole Blood, lyophilised
This lyophilised calibrator (order no. 3009) from Chromsystems is based on human plasma and should be used according to the instruction manual. It is designed to calibrate the measurement method in clinical diagnostics for the quantitative determination of serotonin in serum/plasma/whole blood. While following the instructions the calibrator should be handled and measured in the same manner as a patient specimen.
An alternative is the aqueous calibration standard (order no. 3033) that is directly injected into the HPLC system without sample preparation.

Plasma Calibration Standard (order no. 3009)
Carefully remove the metal seal and rubber stopper from the vials. Add exactly 1.0 ml of distilled water into each vial. Return the stopper and incubate for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature. Swirl the vials to dissolve the contents until homogeneity.
Stored at +2 to +8 °C and unopened, the lyophilised calibrator is stable until the expiry date specified on the vial labels. The reconstituted calibrator can be stored up to 2 days tightly capped at +2 to +8 C. If the calibrator cannot be used within this period, it should be aliquoted and stored frozen below -18 °C (up to 3 months).
