These lyophilised quality controls from Chromsystems are based on human urine and should be used according to the instruction manual. They are designed to monitor the accuracy and precision of analytical procedures in clinical diagnostics for the quantitative determination of endocrine hormones and their metabolites in urine. Further values are related to parameters for neurochemical analyses. While following the instructions the controls should be handled and measured in the same manner as a patient specimen.

Carefully remove the metal seal and rubber stopper from the vials. Add exactly 8.0 ml of distilled water into each vial. Return the stopper and incubate for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature. Swirl the vials to dissolve the contents until homogeneity.
Stored at +2 to +8 °C and unopened, the lyophilised controls are stable until the expiry date specified on the vial labels. The reconstituted controls can be stored up to 5 days light protected and tightly capped at +2 to +8 C. Since the different parameters of these urine controls have different stability characteristics in solution, the specific storage conditions for the individual parameters should also be selected for the controls. If the controls cannot be used within this period, they should be aliquoted and stored frozen below -18 °C (up to 3 months).
