Vitamin B1/B6

Title Summary Year
Exercise-Induced Hyperhomocysteinemia Is Not Related to Oxidative Damage or Impaired Vascular Function in Amateur Middle-Aged Runners under Controlled Nutritional Intake tHcy increases in an exercise–dose–response fashion but is not related to endothelial dysfunction mediated by oxidative stress mechanisms. Hcy and vitamin B6 measured with Chromsystems assay. 2021
Do Specialized Bariatric Multivitamins Lower Deficiencies After Sleeve Gastrectomy? This study shows that SG patients benefit from the specialized multivitamin supplements, but adjustments are required for iron and vitamin B6 content. B1/ and B6 were measured with the Chromsystems HPLC assay 2020
Micronutrients in critically ill patients with severe acute kidney injury – a prospective study the study concluds that  altered micronutrient status is common in patients with severe AKI regardless of treatment.
with CRRT. B1/B6 measured by HPLC from Chromsystems

Thiamine Deficiency in Adolescents with Eating Disorders: A Prospective Cohort Study The authors recommend in their study to consider screening for thiamine deficiency in treatment-naïve patients with pediatric eating disorder. Vitamin B1 was measured with Chromsystems assay. 2020
Thiamine Deficiency in Adolescents with EatingDisorders: A Prospective Cohort Study In the current study, the authors detected thiamine deficiency in only 6% of patients on their first admission to an outpatient day hospital for eating disorders. All deficient patients did not have a recent dietary intervention.
They recommend screening for thiamine deficiency in treatment-naïve PED patients. TPP was measured by the HPLC assay of Chromsystems.

Utility of Whole Blood Thiamine Pyrophosphate Evaluation in TPK1-Related Diseases Blood TPP measurement represents a fast and cost-effective diagnostic tool in TPK1-related diseases. Tpp was measured with Chromsystems HPLC assay. 2019
Mining the Age-Dependent Reference Intervals of B Vitamins from Routine Laboratory Test Results A lower vitamin B6 reference limit allows detection of subclinical vitamin deficiency more precisely in the geriatric group; respective reference intervals should be revised accordingly. B1/B6 measured with Chromsystems assay. 2019
PDXK mutations cause polyneuropathy responsive to pyridoxal 5′‐phosphate supplementation  these data expand the genetic causes of primary polyneuropathy and the heterogeneity of inborn errors of vitamin B6 metabolism and identify PLP as a potential therapeutic target for this disorder. B6 was measured with the Chromsystems HPLC assay. 2019
Blood homocysteine levels are increased in hepatocellular carcinoma patients with portal vein thrombosis. A single centre retrospective cohort study Total Hcy is a sensitive marker of portal vein thrombosis in patients with  hepatocellular carcinoma. Hcy and B6 measured with Chromsystems assay.  2018
Biological Variability and Impact of Oral Contraceptives on Vitamins B6, B12 and Folate Status in Women of Reproductive Age This study provides longitudinal data regarding the within-subject vitamin variability for women of reproductive age who were tertiary students. Vitamin B6 is measured by HPLC assay from Chromsystems. 2013
Dietary Folic Acid Intake Differentially Affects Methionine Metabolism Markers and Hippocampus Morphology in Aged Rats dietary FA deficiency negatively affects the methionine metabolism biomarkers, while excessive supplementation seems to be unnecessary for optimal maintenance of the methylation cycle and hippocampus integrity. 2013
Homocysteine Lowering by Folate-Rich Diet or Pharmacological Supplementations in Subjects with Moderate Hyperhomocysteinemia Supplementation with natural folate-rich foods, folic acid and 5-MTHF reached a similar reduction in Hcy concentrations. Vitamin B6 was measured with Chromsystems assay.  2013
Supplementary Thiamine Is Still Important in Alcohol Dependence Reduced blood levels of thiamine in people who are alcohol dependent, compared with those with no history of alcohol abuse, are likely to be because of the poor diet according to the study that uses Chromsystems assay to measure thiamine.  2013
Transient Increase in Homocysteine but Not Hyperhomocysteinemia During Acute Exercise at Different Intensities in Sedentary Individuals In conclusion, acute exercise in young sedentary individuals transiently increases tHcy during exercise irrespective of the intensity, but does not result in hyperhomocysteinemia. 2012
Hcy and Vitamin B6 measured with Chromsystems assay.  2012

Please find here publications as guides for reference ranges or therapeutic ranges. They may differ from other published data and are only intended to serve as a rough guide. As data vary depending on patient population and measurement method, please determine ranges for your laboratory. When determining ranges make sure that you comply with local national requirements.
