Software and Application Specialist for Laboratory Automation (m/f/d)

Your role:

  • You will contribute to the automation of complex processes and routinely support the development of innovative automated applications for in-vitro diagnostics as part of a high-performing project team.

  • In this interdisciplinary team, you will assist in transferring the sample preparation of biological matrices to laboratory robots and will develop the necessary software applications on our platforms.

  • For development, you will focus in particular on the factors of user-friendliness and suitability for routine use.

  • You will have previous knowledge of and interest in programming and testing software modules for device control and data management.

  • You will also focus on testing our applications: You will test the software on our test platforms and verify the entire workflow with our pipetting robots. You will work on developing the test strategy and will document the results of the studies on our system.

  • With a trained eye for detail, you will write and check documentation in English and run code reviews. They will take into account regulatory requirements, such as IVDR 2017/746 and IEC 62304.

  • Last but not least, you will present your substantiated results convincingly within international and multifunctional project teams.


What you will bring to the role:

  • Ideally, you combine a successful scientific or technical degree with relevant professional experience.

  • You have several years of relevant professional experience, developing and establishing methods to analyse complex sample materials.

  • Knowledge of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (HPLC and LC-MS/MS) is a plus. Familiarity with clinical diagnostics is another feather in your cap.

  • Practical programming experience (C#, .Net, WPF and ideally HSL) and experience using modern software development tools and techniques will be an advantage.

  • You have good command of written and spoken English.
