The Chromsystems whole blood calibration standard is used to calibrate the HPLC system for the quantitative determination of cyclosporin A, rapamycin, tacrolimus and Everolimus in whole blood. The whole blood blank control is designed to monitor the influences of the matrix. The lyophilised calibrator is based on human whole blood and should be used routinely according to the instructions accompanying the assay procedure being used. While following these instructions the calibrator is to be handled in the same manner as a patient specimen. The blank control represents the original matrix of the Chromsystems Immunosuppressants control and calibrator series of the identical lot.
Remove the metal seal and rubber stopper from the vial. Add exactly 2.0 ml of double distilled water (possibly HPLC-grade) into the vial. Replace the stopper and allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature. Swirl the vial to dissolve the contents until homogeneity.
Stored below -18 °C the unopened calibrator is stable until the expiry date which is stated on the vial label. The reconstituted calibrator can be stored up to one week light protected and tightly capped at +2 to +8 °C. If the calibrator cannot be analysed within this period, it should be aliquoted and has to be stored frozen below -18 °C (up to 6 months).
